About 1667

1667 is a British fragrance line developed in-house by The Fragrance Shop and sold exclusively through that retailer. Its first range was a trio of unisex eau de parfums, Luxe Vanilla, Opulent Floral and Rich Mandarin & Pepper, each also offered as a refill, a reed diffuser and a candle so that a scent could be worn and burned at home; those were on sale by autumn 2019. The name and imagery look back to the court of Louis XIV, whose Versailles was scented so thoroughly, from the fountains to the furniture, that it became known as la cour parfumee, the perfumed court. In 2021 the range was relaunched as La Collection Royale, six eau de parfums in heavy refillable flacons: Citrus Oud, Honey Tobacco, Midnight Amber, Rich Mandarin & Pepper, Rouge and Smoked Wood. In ownership terms it is a retailer's own label rather than an independent house. The first bottles were 55 pounds for 100ml; La Collection Royale sits well above that.
