1667 Honey Tobacco is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2021. Honey Tobacco opens with Bergamot, Lemon, Mandarin, and Thyme, settles into a heart of Pepper, Cinnamon, Clove, and Nutmeg, and dries down to a base of Cedar, Sandalwood, Vetiver, and Patchouli. 1667's Honey Tobacco carries an Acquired verdict, a fresh-led wear.

A heavily spiced citrus opening that gives way to sweet pipe tobacco and honey over tonka and patchouli. The richest and most gourmand-leaning fragrance in the collection.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Fall Winter

Honey, tobacco, tonka and a heavy clove and cinnamon heart make this the densest of the six. Cold air carries it; summer heat would make the sweetness suffocating.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Formal

The strongest projection and sweetness in the collection make it an evening and cold-weather wear. It is too rich and too loud for a shared workspace.

About

Honey Tobacco has the longest note list in La Collection Royale and wears like it. The opening is citrus but not simple: lemon, bergamot and mandarin arrive together with thyme, and that herb is what stops the first minutes reading as an ordinary cologne top, adding a dry medicinal edge underneath the brightness. The heart is where most of the composition lives, and it is dense with baking spice. Clove and cinnamon lead, warm and slightly dusty, with nutmeg and ginger behind them and saffron threading its dry leathery quality through the middle. Pepper keeps it from settling too comfortably. Handled poorly this much spice turns into mulled wine, and Honey Tobacco comes close, but the base pulls it back. Tobacco arrives sweet and cured rather than ashy, closer to unlit pipe blend than to smoke, and honey gives it a thick, waxy, faintly floral sweetness that sits on top of the leaf. Tonka adds an almond-vanilla softness, patchouli and vetiver contribute earth and dryness, and sandalwood and cedar give the whole thing a woody floor that stops it collapsing into dessert. Performance is the strongest of the six, with the tobacco and honey easily audible at the end of a long day. Cold weather and evenings, unambiguously. In summer it would be far too much.
