About ARgENTUM

ARgENTUM is a London skincare and fragrance house built around silver. It is best known for its silver face care, led by the cream la potion infinie, and for les parfums infinis, a collection of alcohol-free eaux de parfum that carries the same story into scent. It sits in the skincare-led, niche corner of British beauty, where perfume is an extension of skincare rather than a separate business.

Joy Isaacs founded the company in London in 2011, after a dream about silver that she turned into a research project with a dermocosmetic scientist. The brand launched in 2012 with one product and opened a boutique in Notting Hill. The Chinese beauty group Ushopal bought the brand in 2022. More recent company records show the founder stepping back from the board in 2025, and its website is now operated by the French skincare house Payot, which belongs to the same group, so the brand is in a period of change.

The fragrances arrived in 2022. They were composed by one perfumer, Delphine Thierry of Grasse, over a long project that gave each of twelve psychological archetypes its own scent, with the signature Become as number zero. The styles run from clean citrus woods and green herbal blends to powdery florals, spiced ambers, peppery resins and an oud. Every scent is built on a water and plant-oil emulsion instead of alcohol, so it sprays as a soft, milky mist and is meant to be kind to skin and hair.

The range suits wearers who like quiet, skin-close scents and a considered, ritual style of choosing a perfume by archetype. Reviewers praise the woody and spiced scents most, especially Magician, Hero and Become. The common cautions are staying power, which varies from fleeting to very long, and sillage that stays close to the skin. The oil-based mist should also be kept off clothes.
