London olfactive studio of perfumer Mabelle O'Rama, making small-batch genderless perfumes from soft woods to smoky amber

Indie Official Website Also known as: Mabelle O'Rama, Mabelle O'Rama Olfactive Studio

About Mabelle O'Rama

Mabelle O'Rama is an independent olfactive studio in London, founded in 2022 by the perfumer Mabelle O'Rama, who is also an olfactive artist and scent researcher. She is self-taught and began studying perfume during the 2020 lockdown. Her work draws on her Phoenician heritage, her upbringing in Lebanon, her life in London and her interest in the cosmos, and she uses scent as a bridge between nostalgia and fantasy. The studio makes perfume, olfactive art and scent workshops, and composes its perfumes in small batches in its London studio.

There are three perfumes. Lunar Dust, the first, is a soft woody skin scent of iris, cedarwood, amber and white woods, and it has no top note. Forbidden Bloom pairs gardenia and frangipani with pear, peach, coffee absolute, ambergris and musk. Phoenix Flame is an amber and incense scent built on sumac, which the studio sourced in Lebanon and had certified for use, with cinnamon, cardamom, immortelle, frankincense, myrrh and oud. Lunar Dust won Best Skin Scent at the 2026 Marie Claire UK Fragrance Awards after an honourable mention at the Art and Olfaction Awards in 2023. The studio has also been a Fragrance Foundation UK finalist, and its founder was a Rising Star finalist in 2026.

The perfumes are genderless and move from intimate, powdery woods to a richer floral and then to smoky, resinous amber. The workshops, called SmellOrama, teach scent exploration and run from the Wandsworth studio and at private venues.

Mabelle O'Rama sits in independent, artist-led perfumery. Its perfumes are sold on the studio's own website and through independent perfumeries in the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. It suits wearers who like quiet skin scents or distinctive, story-led perfume made in small batches.

Brand Evolution

The studio began with Lunar Dust in 2022, a soft woody skin scent. Forbidden Bloom followed in 2023 as a rich floral, and Phoenix Flame in 2024 as a smoky amber with sumac. A discovery set, travel sizes, a leather pouch and magazines have joined the range, and the workshops now run from the studio and at private venues.

Quick Verdict

A young, focused studio with a distinct voice and three well-separated perfumes. Lunar Dust suits those who want a quiet, powdery wood, and Phoenix Flame those who want something smoky and spiced.
