A founder-led fragrance house inspired by Sicily's Monreale Cathedral, with eau de parfum for men and women and a limited oud collection

About Monreale

Monreale is a fragrance house founded by the Greek entrepreneur Thomas Tsavdaridis and registered in the UK. It sells a large range of eau de parfum in matching bottles, gold for men and rose for women, and a separate limited-edition oud collection.

The name comes from the 13th-century cathedral at Monreale near Palermo in Sicily. Tsavdaridis says its mosaics, incense-filled air and sacred stillness gave the brand its emotional foundation, and the house builds its story on that: perfume as a quiet ritual that accompanies and grounds the wearer rather than overwhelms. He brings more than 25 years in luxury cosmetics and perfume to the house, and it says its fragrances are composed by perfumers working to his brief. The first group of about twenty scents appeared in 2021, and the house has since added the oud collection. Its own press describes a flagship boutique in Athens and stockists in Mykonos, Porto Cervo and London, alongside an online shop.

The range is wearable and approachable rather than experimental. Fruity and floral scents such as a blackberry and magnolia, a cherry gourmand and a honeyed rose sit beside fresh bergamot and marine compositions and woody amber scents, many of them set on clean white musk or amber. The oud collection turns to smoky woods, fiery spice and a wine accord, in extrait and eau de parfum.

Monreale sits in the premium part of niche perfumery: a house with a clear founder story, a strong visual identity and a straightforward men's and women's split, still building its reputation. It suits shoppers who like a heritage narrative and an easy, comfortable scent more than a conceptual one.
