NŌRTEAN is an artisan perfume brand based in Riga, Latvia, founded in 2023 by Arturs Petersons. The house emerged from Petersons’ long personal exploration of scent as a way to express identity and the atmosphere of the Baltic north, with perfumes developed over years of solitary work before the public launch. Since debuting, the collection has grown to five fragrances, each tied to specific memories, emotions, and impressions of northern European nature.

The brand operates independently and positions itself as a small-scale, mindful producer, keeping development and production in-house. Its compositions draw heavily on the character of Baltic landscapes and northern biodiversity, often weaving together aromatic woods, resins, greens, and atmospheric accords that suggest ink, paper, and misty vegetation.
