Urania
London gender-fluid perfume house of Winder Ton, making bold woody, resinous and floral eaux de parfum built on identity and self-expression
Urania is a London perfume house that describes itself as contemporary high perfumery and builds its range around gender play and self-expression. It was founded in 2021 by Winder Ton, who trained as a dietitian and lecturer and moved into perfume through essential oils and aromatic molecules. The company was incorporated in April 2021 as Urania's Children Ltd, and the house first traded as Urania's Children & The Heavenly Garden. The name is an epithet of the Greek goddess Aphrodite, as the celestial muse of astronomy, and the perfumes are made in London with naturals distilled in Grasse and clean synthetic materials.
The house launched in 2021 with three genderless scents and now sells six eaux de parfum called the Heavenly Garden Collection. Queer Magic is a floral amber of cardamom, lime and lemon over jasmine, carnation and fig, on palo santo, oud, sandalwood, tobacco and vanilla. Lance of Love is a resinous, woody scent with sage, myrrh, rose, cedar, frankincense and oud over amber, benzoin and birch tar. Divine Nectar is a gourmand floral of cinnamon, honey and orange blossom. Flowerotica is a dark floral of peach, gardenia and jasmine over tobacco and leather. Self-Mythology is a woody floral with frankincense, orris and palo santo, and Fluid Nature is a fresh, musky white floral with water lily and leather.
The style mixes woods, resins and tobacco with florals and sweet notes, and each scent is tied to an idea such as freedom, confidence or forbidden allure. The house says it chooses ingredients for their aphrodisiac qualities and presents the range as inclusive and unconventional rather than as a men's and women's line.
Urania sits in independent London niche perfumery with a queer and fashion following. It is sold on its own website, at Liberty and Goodhood in London, and at Stéle and Gotham in New York, and it suits wearers who like bold, warm perfume with a strong point of view.
A niche, premium house known for woody compositions.
The house launched in 2021 with three genderless perfumes and added a candle at the end of 2022. Fluid Nature followed in 2023, Self-Mythology in 2024 and Flowerotica in 2025, and the range is now six eaux de parfum with discovery sets and travel sizes.
A confident London house with a clear idea and a warm, woody-floral style. Queer Magic suits those who like smoke and florals, Lance of Love those who want resins and woods, and Divine Nectar those who like a sweet gourmand.
