Chanel No 5 Eau de Cologne is far from being the 'old lady' scent some sniff at; this particular vintage concentration is a civet-rich, aldehydic powerhouse that commands attention. It's a classic for a reason, if you can get your hands on a well-preserved bottle.

Revolt No 5 name-checks Chanel No 5 but is a very loose interpretation - it swaps the original's iconic aldehydic-floral bouquet of neroli, ylang-ylang and iris for a fresh bergamot-jasmine-lavender blend with no aldehydes at all. It's a decent unisex fresh-woody scent, but expecting anything close to No 5's abstract, powdery signature will disappoint.
