Mad Essence is Perfume Parlour's dupe of Franck Boclet's Madness, following its coconut-saffron-rum opening through to an oud-rose heart and sandalwood-amber-musk base. It's a fair rendition of the niche extrait's boozy, exotic gourmand character at a fraction of the price, though flatter and less intense than Boclet's concentrated original.
