Note Profile
Crisp pineapple and green pear
Antillone smells of crisp, juicy pineapple and green pear, with a little apple. A fleshy green side runs through the fruit and keeps it fresh rather than sweet. A faint fatty edge sits underneath. It is a clean tropical fruit with none of the sulphur that pineapple can carry.

A given perfume with this note may use this material, or something else.
Antillone is a Mane captive molecule, the ketone 9-decen-2-one. Mane first found it in some varieties of pineapple from Costa Rica and Mauritius. Mane makes it by fermentation and sells it as a 100% natural ketone.
Perfumers use it to build true-to-nature fruit accords, mainly pineapple and pear. Mane says it gives a tropical pineapple effect without the sulphurous notes that often come with pineapple materials. It suits natural fragrance work, where its natural status matters.
