Cosmofruit is an IFF captive. Its maker describes it as a complex fruit rather than a single one: tarte tatin with damascone, nuts, berries, plums, saffron and chilli in it. A note database reads the same material independently as quince and pear, diffusive and sweet.

Scent Profile

Fruity is the note, and both sources lead with it even though they name different fruit. IFF gives summer berries and plums under a caramelised tarte tatin apple. The Scent Base gives quince and pear. The disagreement is about which fruit, not about whether fruit dominates. Sweet_vanillic is the tatin half of that phrase, caramelised sugar and pastry, plus the second source's 'sweet'. Floral is the damascone facet the maker names, which is rose-adjacent rather than a flower in its own right. Warm_spice is saffron and chilli, named together and by the maker. Nutty is IFF's 'nuts', given flat and without qualification. Honeyed sits below the line as the overlap between damascone and cooked fruit.

The fullest description available is IFF's own copy, carried with an (c)IFF credit in a trade-press feature on the house's captive molecules: 'A complex smell reminiscent of tarte tatin, damascone, nuts, summer berries, plums, saffron and chili.' There is no page for Cosmofruit in IFF's public Ingredients Compendium, which was checked directly. Neither source gives a chemical family or a CAS, so this vector rests on odour language alone.

Fragrantica records four placements. Parfumo records none under this spelling. The Scent Base puts it in the gourmand family and says it 'serves as a foundation for floral, musky, soft spicy and sweet accords', so it works as a fruity bed under other material rather than as a top flash.
