About
Frostwood is a Symrise captive pitched as cold evergreen forest. Piney wood is the body, cold air is what makes it unusual, and a damp forest-floor undertone sits underneath. It is a cold green wood, not a warm creamy one.
Scent Profile
Frostwood smells of piney wood, fresh and green with a crisp, cold-air lift rather than a warm, creamy one. Underneath sits a damp, earthy forest-floor note, cool evergreen and wet soil. A faint pine-resin note runs through the wood, and the whole thing reads clean and airy, more open forest air than water.

Origin
An undisclosed captive from Symrise, made at its Holzminden laboratory. It was launched at the 2024 World Perfumery Congress as part of the Iconoclast series. Symrise sells it as 100% renewable, 100% biodegradable and 100% upcycled. Its structure is not published, and no datasheet or patent was found. Symrise describes it as sharp, crisp air with aromatic pine and the earthy smell of the forest floor.
Usage in Perfumery
Used as a fresh woody material in green, aromatic-woody and fougère compositions. It lightens dense woody accords. RboW's Tokyo Stripe (2025) lists it as a base note beside musk. That was the only published perfume found on 2026-10-10.
