Pale, quiet timber with a honeyed sweetness and a violet edge. A soft wood, well short of rosewood or sandalwood in strength.

Scent Profile

Dry_woody leads because both sources reach for timber first, and it stops there rather than going higher because the one perfumery source says the wood is mild and has no intensity of rosewood, sandalwood or cedar. That is a stated ceiling, so the lead facet is deliberately modest. Honeyed is the strongest secondary and the only facet two independent sources give the same word for: Premiere Peau writes slightly honeyed, and a nursery writer describing the tree writes a hint of honey. Powdery and floral are one claim split in two. Faintly violet-like is the phrase, and the reconstruction is said to use ionone-type violet notes, which read as powder as much as flower. Amber_resinous carries a sweet, resinous whisper and mild, warm, faintly resinous, two phrasings of the same idea from one source, both hedged with faintly, which is why it stays under. Below, creamy_woody and sweet_vanillic hold the warm and the sweet in pale, warm timber. Clean_musk and smoky are deliberately held low. Both come from real quotes, but neither quote is about the wood: musky describes the dried fallen leaves under the tree, and smoked describes the seed pods. They are kept because the note may in practice be built from the whole-tree impression, and they are kept small because no source applies them to the timber. Green and aromatic_herbal are the herbaceous edge of the same pod description, at the same discount.

Origin

The timber of Jacaranda mimosifolia. No commercial extraction of the wood exists, so every fragrance use is a reconstruction. Premiere Peau states the build directly: mild wood materials, ionone-type violet notes, and honeyed modifiers. The tree is used for guitars, pianos and car interiors, which is a claim about its working properties and its finish, not about its smell.
