About

Lysylang is a clean white-floral with a coconut-milk body. It is a fractionated ylang-ylang, and the fraction is the point: taking the sharper, medicinal-banana top off the whole oil leaves a purer white flower with jasmine and frangipani underneath, a spicy lily edge and a gourmand coconut character that is more marked than in whole ylang-ylang. Perfumers use it to add body and diffusion to modern white-floral and monoi accords.

Scent Profile

Lysylang smells like a very pure, clean white flower, with jasmine at its centre. A tropical, coconut milk creaminess sets it apart from plain ylang ylang, alongside frangipani and monoi. A soft floral petal body sits underneath, with a fruity sweetness. A spicy lily edge sharpens the top.

A Robertet material, spelled Lisylang by the suppliers and Lysylang on Fragrantica's note list. It is a selected fraction of Ylang-Ylang III from the Comoro Islands, sold under CAS 8006-81-3, the generic ylang-ylang oil number. The material record resolves the trade name to ylang-ylang-oil-rectified. That CAS covers every grade and fraction of the oil, so it fixes the species and not the product.

Three trade sources agree on its job: it brings power, body and diffusion to modern white exotic flower bouquets. Robertet's own product name for it is 'Lisylang Heart', which is the supplier stating the position in the pyramid. Its stated companions are monoi, frangipani, jasmine and lily.
