Marble smells cold and mineral, dry and dusty rather than wet. A faint metallic edge runs through the stone, sharp and slightly invigorating. Underneath sits a faint chalky, dry amber warmth and an abstract woody trace. It reads like a still, quiet hallway rather than rain on a pavement outside.

What is ScentArt?

Origin

Marble has no extractable odour and no captive molecule is published under the name. Mimya says it plainly for the wider stone family: "Origin: Synthetic (Not found in nature)", "typically created using synthetic molecules to capture the scent of wet rocks, salty air, or damp concrete". The referent is metamorphosed limestone, calcite and dolomite - Premiere Peau writes "Calcite and dolomite compressed over millennia -- architecture as scent". So the note is an assembled impression of a surface, built from cool-mineral materials, chalky-dusty materials and a small ozonic lift, and its job is to suggest architecture.

Usage in Perfumery

A structural mineral note. It gives cold, dry, quiet space to compositions that would otherwise read warm, and it is used in the same architectural register as concrete and chalk rather than in the wet-stone register of pebbles or cobblestone.
