Mascarpone is an Italian triple-cream cheese made by acidifying cream. There is no essential oil and no extract. In perfumery the note is a built accord, not a material. Première Peau names the parts: butter lactones such as delta-decalactone and gamma-decalactone, a mild lactic note, and a creamy-smooth vanillic undertone.

Usage in Perfumery

Used in gourmand and dessert compositions where cream is wanted but sourness is not. It sits under fruit and vanilla and gives them body. Dose matters. At low dose it is texture, at high dose it is dessert.
