Peach Tree is the wood-and-sap reading of Prunus persica, not its fruit and not its blossom. One source describes it as a smell in its own right and calls it woody and slightly sappy. The name is contested. The single brand attested to use it prints 'peach tree flower' in its own copy, which would make it a floral note instead. This vector follows the woody reading and carries the floral one as a real minority, because the evidence does not settle the question.

Dry woody leads and it is the only facet any source states directly: 'woody and slightly sappy', filed under Woods & Earth. It is cut timber rather than a resinous or smoky wood, and it is capped below a loud wood because no source calls it strong. Green is the 'sappy' half of that same phrase, sap and inner bark rather than crushed leaf. The leaf is a separate published note and its green is much higher. Floral is not a hedge, it is the second reading of the term: the one brand attested to use it calls the material 'peach tree flower' and places it in a floral heart. Scoring it at zero would erase the only first-party description that exists. Creamy woody comes from that same brand copy, 'hints of precious wood'. Earthy and mossy_chypre are scored at trace only, and 0.15, and they are weaker evidence than they look: the source lists fresh spicy, woody, earthy and mossy as the accords this note is built into, which is company it keeps and not a description of its own smell. Fruity with a spread. No source claims the wood smells of peach fruit, and the low value is what the evidence supports, not what the sibling notes would predict.

Origin

There is no peach-wood distillation. No supplier found sells a peach wood, bark or twig oil, absolute or CO2, and no manufacturer describes an odour for peach timber that is distinct from peach fruit, peach blossom or peach leaf. What reaches perfumery from this tree is the fruit accord, the blossom and the leaf, all three already published here. Peach Tree is therefore a reconstruction, built from woody and sappy materials to name the whole tree rather than one organ of it. The sibling slug `peach-wood` was rejected on 2026-08-23 because no source described its smell at all. `peach-tree` survives because one does.

Usage in Perfumery

Fragrantica records 6 placements. Parfumo records none. The note encyclopaedia that describes it indexes exactly one perfume using the term, Lootah Perfumes' Immerse (2018), where it sits in the heart beside peony, under bitter orange, grapefruit and neroli, over a base of amber, jasmine and oakmoss. That is a floral-fresh frame, not a woody one, which is the whole difficulty with this note.
