Amouage Oud Ulya is a perfume oil launched in 2021, created by Cécile Zarokian. Amouage's Oud Ulya carries an Acquired verdict, a woody-led wear.

This is raw, untamed oud given a sophisticated polish. It's potent and not for the faint of heart, but those who appreciate proper oud will find it an absolute masterpiece. If you're not into animalics, steer clear.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Fall Winter

A cold-weather scent - best worn in winter and autumn.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Formal

With eternal longevity and moderate sillage, this powerful scent is best reserved for evening events or intimate settings. Its bold, animalic character would be too much for an office or casual daytime wear, but lends itself well to sophisticated formal occasions or dates where you want to make an impression.

We derive these from the materials behind this fragrance's notes, not from the bottle. Each one is likely, not confirmed. The list is partial - the box can name others.

Declarable under EU Annex III

The large name is the everyday one. The small name is the INCI form on the box, so you can compare the two. Reactions differ between people. A patch-test panel is not a ranking of risk. How we derive this

About

Oud Ulya opens with a challenging, animalic burst of Assam oud, rich and authentic, swiftly softened by smoky birch tar that evokes crackling embers in a wild, ancient forest. As it develops, a dark, creamy vanilla emerges, taming the raw edge while adding a luxurious sweetness. The base settles into a deeply complex blend of leathery civet and castoreum, grounding the smoky oud with a sensual, dirty elegance.
