Maracuda is Aromara's Extrait interpretation of Maison Crivelli's Oud Maracuja, a niche fragrance built on the striking contrast between juicy tropical fruit and dark, resinous oud. The top opens on passionfruit and other exotic fruits, sweet, tart and immediately recognisable as the same fruit-forward gambit that made the original a cult favourite outside mainstream designer fragrance. Rose, saffron and spice carry the heart, warm and slightly exotic, bridging the fruit top into the woody base with a similar structure to Crivelli's original, though the spice and saffron read a touch more subdued here. The base of oud, amber and musk is where the dupe simplifies most: Crivelli's version leans into a darker, more animalic oud with real grit, while this build offers a smoother, more polished woody-amber finish that trades some of the original's edge for wider wearability. At 35% extrait it holds the fruit-oud contrast for hours rather than letting the passionfruit burn off quickly, which is the usual failure point for fruit-forward oud compositions. It reads as a bold, conversation-starting scent, best suited to an evening out or a date where a fruity-oud combination reads as distinctive rather than safe. Niche houses like Maison Crivelli see less mainstream community discussion, but the fruit-versus-oud contrast is the fragrance's most talked-about feature online, and this dupe reproduces that core idea faithfully even where the oud's darker textures are smoothed over.
