464 is Blossom Perfumery's version of Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Baccarat Rouge 540, opening with the same distinctive saffron and jasmine pairing that gives the original its sweet, slightly metallic signature. The heart brings amberwood and ambergris together for that mineral, luminous quality the fragrance is famous for, before settling into fir resin and cedarwood. MFK's original is legendary for its huge, room-filling sillage and hours of longevity built from expensive, hard-to-replicate aroma molecules; this version captures the recognisable opening accord reasonably well but loses most of its projection within two to three hours and never reaches the same room-filling scale. Worth trying for anyone curious about the famous accord on a budget, but it's a distant echo of the original's performance.
