Oud Candy

by Margaux Le Paih Guérin

BORNTOSTANDOUT Oud Candy is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2025, created by Margaux Le Paih Guérin. Oud Candy opens with Hazelnut, Milk, Cotton Candy, and Brown Sugar, settles into a heart of Jasmine, and dries down to a base of Oud, Leather, Caramel, and Woody. BORNTOSTANDOUT's Oud Candy carries an Acquired verdict, a woody-led wear.

This one's a proper love-it-or-hate-it affair. Don't let 'Candy' fool you; it's a divisive, beast-mode oud and leather combo that'll either have you hooked on its bold woodiness or running for the hills from its 'shoe polish' vibe. Definitely not a safe blind buy.

Best Seasons

Spring

A cold-weather scent - best worn in winter and spring.

Best Occasions

Best For:

Formal

Given its 'extremely loud and persistent' nature with 'nuclear sillage and longevity', this isn't one for the office, where subtlety reigns. It's much better suited for evening wear, like a date or formal event, where its powerful presence can make a statement without overwhelming. Its boldness makes it less ideal for casual daytime settings.

About

Oud Candy kicks off with a surprising, almost greasy swirl of hazelnut and milky brown sugar, quickly giving way to a dominant, sharp blast of leathery oud. As it dries, the sweetness from caramel and vanilla tries to soften the edges, but it's largely engulfed by a powerful, dry woodiness from sandalwood and cedar, underscored by an earthy oakmoss and a hint of warm, spicy saffron. Jasmin provides a fleeting floral shimmer in the heart, but it's the intense, sometimes 'plastic' or 'petrol' oud that truly governs this scent's long-lasting development.
