The brief, according to the house, was a completely unexpected accord: the meeting of a raw cocoa bean with an extremely rare oud assam, with saffron playing a spicy harmony on top. The composition opens on a saffron-and-blackcurrant lift that resolves quickly into the heart - a heavy oud paired with cocoa, a quiet rose, and a thread of olibanum incense. The base is leather-dominated: patchouli, amberwood, caramel and a quiet vanilla soften the edges but the leather note is the throughline that ties the composition together for several hours.
