Caswell-Massey Number Six is a Cologne launched in 2018, created by Laurent Le Guernec. Number Six opens with Bergamot, Neroli, and Rosemary, settles into a heart of Amber, Clove, and Dried Rose, and dries down to a base of Lavender and Clean Musk. Caswell-Massey's Number Six carries a Favourite verdict, a green-led wear.

This one's a proper historical head-scratcher; either a surprisingly wearable classic or a disappointing relic that's past its prime. Expect a fresh, clean opening that settles into something more complex, but don't expect it to stick around all day.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

A warm-weather pick - at its best in summer and spring.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Office Casual
Also Works:
Date Sport

Its moderate longevity and sillage, combined with its clean and fresh profile, make it suitable for office and casual wear without being overpowering. While some appreciate its classic character for formal settings, its generally light performance and 'old-school' vibe might not suit every formal occasion.

About

Number Six opens with a bright, bracing burst of bergamot and neroli, underpinned by an aromatic kick of rosemary that gives it an immediate sense of fresh tradition. As it settles, a warm, spiced heart emerges with clove and a subtle, dried rose, adding depth without becoming heavy. The dry down is a clean, comforting affair of lavender and a soft, lingering musk, conjuring a sense of understated elegance.
