Mosquito is Comporta's calling card and the most straightforward thing the house makes. It opens on ozone and freshly cut green grass, the smell of stems snapped in half rather than of a floral bouquet, and that green-watery character sets the tone for everything after it. The heart is a white floral built around lily of the valley and orris root, which is where the fragrance picks up its faintly powdery, laundered quality. Muguet is a note that can go shrill in the wrong hands; here it is kept transparent and cool, and the orris stops it from turning sharp. The base is minimal by design, just musk and sandalwood, adding a soft skin-like finish without weight. The result is closer to a very good clean linen scent than to a conventional floral, and it is genuinely unisex despite the muguet. Longevity is moderate and projection is modest, so this is a fragrance that sits near the skin and rewards reapplication rather than announcing itself. It is easiest to wear in spring and summer, and it is one of the safest office fragrances in the range because there is nothing in it likely to bother anyone. The brand's own note on it is characteristically dry, framing the name as a joke about the insects that arrive at dusk in Comporta. Consider it the entry point to the house.
