About

Clinique's Aromatics Elixir is a landmark 1970s chypre known for its dry, herbal-medicinal intensity, and Eden's No.077 stays close to that dense, vintage character. Aldehydes, coriander and bergamot open before a sprawling floral heart of chamomile, rose and jasmine develops, closing on a mossy base of sandalwood, patchouli and oakmoss that gives the whole composition its dry, incense-like backbone. This is a faithful take on a genuinely challenging, old-school fragrance style - dominated by chamomile, incense and oakmoss rather than sweetness, it can read as strong and slightly medicinal if oversprayed, exactly as the original does. Community consensus holds this as one of the more accurate budget interpretations of the Clinique classic, since the herbal-mossy dryness is hard to fake and Eden gets it largely right. It suits formal occasions and cooler months where a bold, mature chypre fits the setting. Anyone who loves the original's unapologetically vintage, autumn-forest character will find this a worthy, far cheaper alternative.
