Eden Perfumes No.072 Black XS is an Eau de Parfum. No.072 Black XS opens with Pink Pepper, Cranberry, and Tamarind, settles into a heart of Dark Chocolate, Rose, and Violet, and dries down to a base of Massoia, Patchouli, and Vanilla. Eden Perfumes's No.072 Black XS carries an Acquired verdict, a sweet-led wear.

No.072 chases the tart cranberry-tamarind opening and rose-cacao heart of Black XS for Her, landing close on the fruity-gourmand character but rendering the woody vanilla base noticeably flatter and less lingering than Rabanne's original.

About

Eden's No.072 is built to echo Paco Rabanne's Black XS for Her, a fruity-woody scent that opens tart with pink pepper, tamarind and cranberry before softening into rose, violet and cacao. The dupe captures that pink-pepper sharpness and the cranberry-tamarind bite reasonably well in the first application, and the cacao-rose heart reads as recognisably close to the original's playful, slightly sensual character. Where it diverges is in the base: the massoia wood and patchouli come across two-dimensional next to the original's more textured woody-vanilla drydown, and the whole composition sits closer to the skin with noticeably less projection once past the first hour or two. It is a reasonable everyday approximation of a fragrance built for going out, capturing the fruity-sweet identity without needing the full retail spend, though anyone who knows the original well will notice the shorter finish and a slightly louder opening than the real thing.
