About

Colonia Oud is Eden Perfumes' vegan alternative to Acqua di Parma's oriental-woody take on its signature Colonia line, opening with a gorgeous burst of Calabrian bergamot and Italian orange that immediately softens into something darker. As the citrus fades, oud and amyris take over the heart, joined by a pinch of coriander that adds a subtle spice without overwhelming the composition. The base is where this fragrance earns its evening credentials, combining leather, cedar, sandalwood, musk and patchouli into a warm, resinous finish that plays well against the bright opening. Where the Acqua di Parma original builds real complexity and depth across its oud-leather base, this alternative keeps things a little more straightforward, with the leather and oud notes sitting close together rather than unfolding in distinct layers. It still delivers the same contrast the original is known for, like sipping bourbon on the rocks, and performs with decent projection for an aftershave-format fragrance. Best suited to autumn and winter evenings, No.215 works well layered under a jacket or shirt for date nights and formal occasions. Longevity runs shorter than the designer version but the opening citrus-to-oud journey is a faithful, wearable homage to Colonia Oud at a fraction of the cost.
