No.097 opens with a soft, fruity lift of Amalfi lemon and litchi, quickly joined by peony for a delicate, slightly powdery floral start that echoes the YSL original's signature opening. The heart moves into jasmine, rose and freesia with a touch of pink pepper, keeping the composition light and feminine rather than heavy or cloying. The real character of the scent shows in the base, where patchouli takes the lead alongside vetiver, cedar and ambrette - a nod to the bohemian, earthy patchouli-and-wood finish that made the original stand out from typical fruity florals. That said, this version is noticeably gentler: the patchouli is present but doesn't have the same smoky depth or long-haul sillage, and the whole composition sits closer to the skin. It works well as an easy, wearable take on the sophisticated fruity-chypre style for anyone curious about the trend, best suited to transitional weather and low-key daytime or dinner-date wear.
