Eden's No.405 is inspired by Lancome's La Vie Est Belle, one of the best-known modern gourmand-florals, praised for evolving from a fruity-fresh opening into an enveloping, almost edible vanilla warmth. The dupe follows the same arc: black currant and pear lead the top alongside grapefruit and bergamot, before an iris and jasmine heart brings the refined floral character the original is loved for, with orange blossom adding lift. The base of vanilla, tonka bean, patchouli and praline aims to recreate that signature sweet, gourmand dry-down, though it comes through noticeably lighter and shorter-lived than the real thing - reviewers of the genuine Lancome fragrance report exceptional longevity, often ten hours or more, whereas Eden's version settles and fades well before that mark. The iris-jasmine heart also reads a touch more linear, lacking some of the original's depth. Still, the black currant-vanilla-praline signature is clearly recognisable, making this a solid entry point into the La Vie Est Belle mood for casual daytime wear or a cosy autumn and winter date without the designer price.
