Devil Tender

by Nadège Le Garlantezec

Ex Nihilo Devil Tender is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2016, created by Nadège Le Garlantezec. Devil Tender opens with Peach, Bergamot, Grapefruit, and Pink Pepper, settles into a heart of Rose and Tea, and dries down to a base of Suede, Sandalwood, Cedar, and Vanilla. Ex Nihilo's Devil Tender carries a Favourite verdict, a rose-led wear.

This "tender" devil divides opinion. Some find it a beautifully blended, soft rose; others, a generic and overpriced offering for a niche house. It's a lovely scent, but be prepared for a skin scent and make sure it doesn't remind you of something cheaper.

Its soft sillage and delicate accords make it perfect for office wear or a close-quarters date. While pleasant for casual outings, its price point and lack of projection mean it might be overlooked for formal events or vigorous activity.

About

A gentle, powdery rose takes centre stage, softened by creamy vanilla and a whisper of suede. A sprightly burst of pink pepper and grapefruit offers a fleeting, tart opening, before settling into the heart of delicate tea-infused rose. The drydown reveals a comforting blend of sandalwood and heliotrope, adding a subtly sweet and woody warmth to the overall airy composition.
