Gritti Arete is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2015. Arete opens with Bergamot, Cardamom, Cinnamon, and Labdanum, settles into a heart of Whisky and Leather, and dries down to a base of Musk, Sandalwood, Vetiver, and Patchouli. Gritti's Arete carries an Acquired verdict, a woody-led wear.

Arete is a dark, warm Eau de Parfum built on leather, whisky and spice. Cinnamon and cardamom give the opening a glow, and the long base of guaiac wood, styrax and vanilla makes it heavy and rich. It is bold and moody, suited to cold evenings.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

About

Labdanum, cinnamon, cardamom and bergamot open with a resinous, spicy warmth. The heart brings leather and whisky, a boozy, dark combination. The base is deep and busy, with guaiac wood, patchouli, styrax, vanilla, sandalwood, ambroxan, vetiver and musk adding smoke, sweetness and woody depth. It is a rich, leathery spice scent with a lot going on at the end.
