Guess Type 2: Red Currant & Balsam is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2023. Type 2: Red Currant & Balsam opens with Red Currant, Bergamot, and Jasmine, settles into a heart of Orange Blossom, Cedar, and Vetiver, and dries down to a base of Canadian Fir Balsam, Musk, Amber, and Oakmoss. Guess's Type 2: Red Currant & Balsam carries an Acquired verdict, a green-led wear.

Type 2 sets red currant and bergamot against cedar, vetiver and fir balsam. It is a fruity, woody eau de parfum with a green, forest-like base. Pleasant, and unusual enough to stand apart from other designer unisex scents.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

About

Type 2 opens with red currant, jasmine and bergamot, a tart, juicy and lightly floral start. The heart moves to orange blossom, vetiver and cedar, which bring a soft floral note and a dry, woody backbone. The base is amber, musk, Canadian fir balsam and oakmoss, giving a resinous, mossy and warm finish with a woodland feel. Overall it is a fruity, woody and balsamic scent that moves from bright to green to warm, and wears as a smooth unisex eau de parfum.
