Dates & Maple

Dates & Maple is a warm, comforting gourmand built on Medjool dates and maple, with honey, toffee and caramel for sweetness and sandalwood, benzoin and amber for depth. The maker says it is not too sweet and calls it a cuddle of a perfume, perfect for date night, an evening in or even a pyjama scent. It opens with cream, lactones and honey, with a little mango and May Chang. The heart is dates, toffee and maple with cardamom, cinnamon and tonka. The base is benzoin, vanilla, caramel, sandalwood, amber, carob and muscovado sugar. Wearers agree on the strength. One buyer found the first notes incredibly strong before it became a wonderfully sweet aroma. A sample wearer got a big blast of dates that developed into a resinous, warm, rich scent, with the benzoin very noticeable on their skin, and was glad to find a true gourmand. Buyers describe it as sweet, fruity, golden-syrupy and like Christmas. The maker promises great lasting power from one spray; no wearer has timed it. Votes on record put it in autumn and winter and in evenings out. It suits anyone who likes a dense, resinous date scent more than a light bakery one.
