Kilian Angels' Share On The Rocks is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2025, created by Benoist Lapouza. Angels' Share On The Rocks opens with Ice, Bergamot, Lemon, and Bitter Orange, settles into a heart of Cognac, Cinnamon, and Caramel, and dries down to a base of Oak, Sandalwood, Tonka Bean, and Myrrh. Kilian's Angels' Share On The Rocks carries a Favourite verdict, a sweet-led wear.

A fizzy grapefruit and lemon opening over cognac, cinnamon and caramel, drying to a lighter, less spiced Angels' Share. Easier to wear by day and in warmer weather, but redundant if you already own the original.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Autumn Winter
Also Works:
Summer

The citrus and cold aldehydes make it a spring and early autumn scent, and a boozy cognac base keeps it useful on cooler evenings. It is lighter than the original, so summer works at night but not in peak heat.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Casual
Also Works:
Office

Moderate projection and a bright opening make it easy to wear to work and out in the evening. The sweet cognac base is playful rather than formal, and it is not a gym scent.

About

Angels' Share On The Rocks is Kilian's 2025 addition to The Liquors, composed by Benoist Lapouza as a cooler reading of the 2020 Angels' Share. The idea comes from the way Kilian Hennessy likes to drink cognac, over ice, and the frosted bottle is made to look like a glass tumbler. The opening is the whole point. Bergamot, grapefruit, lemon and bitter orange arrive with a cold, aldehydic fizz that wearers compare to lemonade, iced tea with a splash of spirit, or a fizzy lemon soda. Behind it sits cognac, warmed by cinnamon and caramel. Within the first hour most wearers report the citrus thinning out and the familiar Angels' Share shape coming through underneath: tonka bean, oak, sandalwood and a little myrrh, with cashmeran adding a smooth, slightly woody glow. The cinnamon is turned down compared with the original, and the whole base is lighter and less sweet. That shift is where opinion splits. Fans like a boozy scent they can wear in the daytime, at work or through spring and early autumn. Critics say the bright top fades fast, leaving a diluted version of the original, and a few pick up a medicinal or minty edge in the transition. Wear is moderate rather than monstrous: expect a pleasant scent bubble for several hours and a quieter trail than the original. It is a sensible choice for someone who finds Angels' Share too heavy or too sweet, and a harder sell for anyone who already loves the original. The price is the other common complaint, so a sample is wise before buying a full bottle.
