Lalique Lalique de Lalique is an Eau de Parfum launched in 1992. Lalique de Lalique opens with Wallflower, Rose, Jasmine, and Iris, settles into a heart of Blackcurrant Leaf, Pear, and Blackberry, and dries down to a base of Amber, Sandalwood, Vanilla, and Clean Musk. Lalique's Lalique de Lalique carries a Statement verdict, a fruity-led wear.

The house's first perfume, a powdery floral from 1992 that turns fruity in the heart with blackberry, pear and blackcurrant leaf. It dries to a creamy sandalwood, vanilla and musk. Elegant and a little formal, best for cooler days.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

Elegant, ladylike and moderately projecting, so it suits formal and evening wear best. It is too soft and mature for sport and a little formal for casual days.

About

Lalique de Lalique is the perfume that started the house's fragrance line, and it still wears like a statement from the early 1990s. The opening is floral: jasmine and rose with a spicy wallflower and a clear, powdery iris, with a touch of clove giving it an old-fashioned warmth. It is a polished, ladylike start rather than a fresh one. The heart turns fruity and slightly dark. Wild blackberry, pear and blackcurrant leaf give a juicy, almost jammy sweetness that sits between the florals and the base. Some wearers find this the most striking part and describe it as sweet, ripe and powdery. Others find it dated or soapy, so it divides opinion. The dry-down is soft and creamy. Mysore sandalwood, bourbon vanilla and white musk, with a little amber, leave a warm, close and powdery trail that lasts well. Longevity is good, and the sillage is moderate, so it is a scent that stays near the wearer and does not fill a room. It suits autumn and winter, evenings, and occasions where something elegant and classic is wanted. It will feel mature to people raised on fresh or gourmand fragrances, and that is part of its charm for fans of the older floral style. The bottle, with its leaf-covered glass and fan-shaped stopper, is as well known as the scent, and a limited crystal edition is released each year. This is the eau de parfum, the main current version of the 1992 original.
