In Between is the plushest thing in Lengling's founding set, and the one that most clearly reads as a classical floral. Peach opens it: not a sharp fruit note but a soft, downy one that behaves more like a texture than a top note. Jasmine sambac absolute arrives quickly and does most of the work, rich and slightly indolic without tipping into the heavy white-floral register. Violet and lily of the valley sit underneath and cool the jasmine down, adding a powdery, faintly green lift that keeps the heart from going syrupy. The base is where the house signature shows. Patchouli is used dry rather than earthy, Brazilian rosewood adds a warm woody polish, and vanilla absolute with musk brings the whole thing to a soft, skin-warm close. The effect is intimate and slightly nostalgic, which matches the brand's own framing of the scent as sitting between youth and maturity. Expect strong longevity at extrait concentration, comfortably seven hours or more, with moderate projection in the first hour that settles close to the skin. It suits autumn and cooler spring days best, and works in winter indoors. Best worn for evenings, dinners and quiet occasions rather than the office, where the jasmine can feel a little intimate for open-plan surroundings.
