Map of the Heart Purple Heart V 5 is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2016, created by Jacques Huclier. Purple Heart V 5 opens with Plum and Cherry, settles into a heart of Rose, Violet, and Licorice, and dries down to a base of Woody Notes, Amber, Sandalwood, and Vanilla. Map of the Heart's Purple Heart V 5 carries an Acquired verdict, a sweet-led wear.

This one is a real Marmite-moment, mate. Folks either reckon it's a bloody masterpiece of dark, inky fruitiness or pure, unadulterated medicinal ink with a side of BBQ. Definitely not a blind-buy, unless you like a bit of a gamble.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Fall Winter

A cold-weather scent - best worn in autumn and winter.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Formal
Also Works:
Casual

Its distinctive, heavy character and moderate to strong sillage make it unsuitable for office wear, where it might offend. However, the unique and alluring darkness, with its boozy and smoky nuances, positions it perfectly for dates and formal evening events, particularly in cooler weather. Its bold nature means it's not a casual everyday scent for most.

About

Purple Heart V 5 opens with a bold, juicy burst of dark plum and cherry, swiftly deepening into a complex heart where powdery violet and an intriguing licorice note intertwine. The true star, however, is a persistent, sharp ink accord that merges with smoky woods and creamy sandalwood in the base. It’s finished with a touch of amber, vanilla, and tonka, adding a sweet, warm counterpoint to its darker facets.
