Monreale Alhambra is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2024, created by Ilias Kakis. Alhambra opens with Pepper, settles into a heart of Jasmine, Osmanthus, Labdanum, and Frankincense, and dries down to a base of Musk, Cedar, Oud, and Patchouli. Monreale's Alhambra carries an Acquired verdict, a woody-led wear.

A woody, spicy and resinous fragrance built around Oud, Black Pepper, with a Black Pepper opening and a deeper Oud, Benzoin finish.

Showing: Overall Blend

Top, heart and base are worked out from how this perfume's notes evaporate together, not from the pyramid the house publishes. A heavy base holds lighter notes back, so the same note can sit in a different group in a different perfume. The model is deliberately crude: it treats the notes as an ideal mixture and leaves out the skin and the solvent.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Also Works:
Spring Summer Autumn Winter

The house presents this as a versatile scent, and its woody, spicy and resinous profile suits a cautious all-season reading. The rating remains even because no strong seasonal preference is established.

Best Occasions

Also Works:
Office Date Casual Formal

The house's occasion language supports a considered daytime or evening reading, while its layered woody, spicy and resinous structure is less suited to sport. This is a measured styling judgement.

About

Alhambra is a woody, spicy and resinous fragrance from Monreale. Named for the historic palace, Alhambra pairs dark oud with a brisk pepper opening and a rich floral-resinous heart. Cedar, benzoin and tonka round out the dry-down. The pyramid runs from Black Pepper through Frankincense, Labdanum, Osmanthus, Jasmine to Oud, Benzoin, Tonka Bean, Patchouli, Musk, Cedar. The contrast between Black Pepper and Oud, Benzoin gives the scent its main movement, while the heart notes connect the two. Its character is best read through that gradual change: the first spray sets the direction, the heart adds detail, and the base leaves the lasting impression. The house places it in a luxury mood, which suits someone drawn to woody, spicy and resinous compositions. It is a more involved choice than a simple, single-note scent; the layered structure will appeal most to someone who enjoys a fragrance that develops over time.
