Corpus Equus opens with an aggressive blast of smoky leather, thick and animalic, reminiscent of a well-worn saddle or a mechanic's garage. As it settles, the birch adds a tarry, almost inky depth, while a dry, woody backbone emerges from cedar and patchouli.
