Naomi Goodsir Nuit de Bakélite is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2017, created by Isabelle Doyen. Nuit de Bakélite opens with Angelica, Violet Leaf, Galbanum, and Tomato Leaf, settles into a heart of Carrot Seeds, Fruity, Orris, and Tuberose, and dries down to a base of Leather, Guaiac Wood, Tobacco, and Labdanum. Naomi Goodsir's Nuit de Bakélite carries an Acquired verdict, a tuberose-led wear.

Nuit de Bakélite is a divisive, powerhouse green floral. You'll either adore its eccentric, almost nuclear intensity, or you'll be actively repelled by its audacious take on tuberose. Definitely not a blind buy.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Fall
Also Works:
Winter

Built for the cooler edges of the year - spring and autumn pair best.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Formal
Also Works:
Date

Its nuclear performance and room-filling sillage make it completely inappropriate for most office settings. While it could work for an evening date or formal event for those wanting to make a statement, its sheer strength means it's best reserved for casual wear where its unique character can breathe.

About

It opens with a sharp, almost jarring burst of green, dominated by fresh violet and tomato leaf, underscored by the bitter, aromatic tang of galbanum and angelica. This aggressive greenery gradually softens into a creamy yet still vibrant tuberose heart, touched by earthy orris and a hint of fruity sweetness and spicy cardamom. The base emerges with a cool, almost plasticky leather, guaiac wood, and the dry facets of styrax and tobacco, creating a complex and utterly unique drydown.
