Oakcha Gezellig is an Extrait de Parfum. Gezellig opens with Bergamot, Pepper, and Pink Pepper, settles into a heart of Cedar, Ylang-Ylang, Magnolia, and Gardenia, and dries down to a base of Amber, Sandalwood, Tonka Bean, and Cashmeran. Oakcha's Gezellig carries a Statement verdict, a spicy-led wear.

A peppery bergamot opening gives way to creamy gardenia, magnolia and ylang ylang over sandalwood, tonka and amber. Oakcha's take on Venetian Bergamot, for those who like a warm floral with spice.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

About

Gezellig is a Dutch word for cosy, and this fragrance is a spiced, creamy floral that earns the name. Its main contrast is warm white flowers against dry, peppery spice. The top is crisp and lively. Bergamot is the bright centre, with black pepper and pink pepper adding a dry, tingling edge. The opening is clean and slightly sparkling, then it softens within minutes. The heart is where the character lies. Gardenia and magnolia give a lush, creamy floral body, ylang ylang adds a rounded sweetness, and ginger, cedarwood and pepperwood keep a spicy, woody thread running through them. The flowers feel full but never syrupy. The base is soft and smooth. Sandalwood and tonka bean give a creamy, almondy warmth, amber adds a glow, and cashmere adds a soft, velvety touch. As an extrait it lasts through the day and wears close to the body. It suits any gender, in cool weather, at dinners and on relaxed evenings at home. Oakcha no longer sells Gezellig (its page has been removed from oakcha.com), and this page records it for owners. Bottom line: a creamy white floral with pepper and a warm amber finish.
