Oakcha Tribal Vow is an Extrait de Parfum. Tribal Vow opens with Pink Pepper, Apple, and Rosemary, settles into a heart of Rose and Clove, and dries down to a base of Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha, Patchouli, Ambroxan, and Castoreum. Oakcha's Tribal Vow carries an Acquired verdict, a musk-led wear.

A spiced double rose over a dark base of patchouli, labdanum, castoreum and ambroxan. Oakcha's take on Promise, for anyone who likes a grown-up, resinous rose.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Autumn Winter

Clove, patchouli, labdanum and castoreum are warm and heavy, which suits cold weather. The apple and pink pepper opening adds a brief cool lift.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Formal

Dark rose and amber feel romantic and dressed up, so it fits dates and evenings. It is too rich for most offices.

About

Tribal Vow is a spiced rose with a dark, resinous backbone. The opening is crisp and slightly cool: apple gives a juicy bite, pink pepper adds sparkle, and rosemary supplies a herbal, camphor-like edge. Two roses sit at the heart, Turkish and Bulgarian, one jammy and the other deeper and greener. Clove runs through them and gives the bouquet a warm, dry spice. The base is where it gets serious. Cypriol oil or nagarmotha adds a smoky, earthy wood, patchouli adds dark depth, labdanum brings amber sweetness, and castoreum gives a leathery, animal warmth. Ambroxan finishes it with a clean, glowing, musky trail that helps it carry. It is strong and long-lasting, so a couple of sprays are enough. It suits autumn and winter, evenings and dressed-up occasions, on anyone who likes their rose spicy and mature. Oakcha no longer sells Tribal Vow (its page has been removed from oakcha.com), and this page records it for owners. Bottom line: a spicy double rose over resin, leather and amber.
