Oud Attar Royal Oud Elixir is an Extrait de Parfum launched in 2021. Royal Oud Elixir opens with Bergamot, Lemon, and Pink Pepper, settles into a heart of Angelica, Cedar, and Galbanum, and dries down to a base of Musk, Sandalwood, and Oud. Oud Attar's Royal Oud Elixir carries an Acquired verdict, a woody-led wear.

This one's a bit of a mixed bag; while it aims for royal oud, some find it a muddled citrus affair. Don't expect a straightforward oud experience here.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Summer Fall Winter

Versatile across every season - no clear seasonal preference from wearers.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Formal
Also Works:
Casual

The bold, complex, and potentially heavy nature of the oud and resin notes makes it less suitable for office or sport. It leans more towards evening wear, making it a good choice for dates and formal events where its character can shine.

Declarable allergens

We derive these from the materials behind this fragrance's notes, not from the bottle. Each one is likely, not confirmed. The list is partial - the box can name others.

In standard patch-test panels

  • Citral Geranial from Lemon

Other declarable allergens

  • Bergamot Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Peel Oil from Bergamot
  • Sandalwood Santalol from Sandalwood
  • Synthetic musk Hexamethylindanopyran from Musk

The large name is the everyday one. The small name is the INCI form on the box, so you can compare the two. Reactions differ between people. A patch-test panel is not a ranking of risk. How we derive this

About

Royal Oud Elixir is the spray version of the house's Royal Oud perfume oil, made from the same composition. The house lists pink pepper, bergamot and lemon at the top, cedar, galbanum and angelica in the heart, and oud, musk and sandalwood in the base. It says its Elixirs are made at 30% oil or more and matured for ninety days before bottling. It opens brighter than most of the house's ouds, with pepper and citrus up front, then turns green and slightly bitter as the galbanum and angelica come through, before a warm oud, musk and sandalwood dry-down. Opinion is split. Some wearers rate the dry-down highly, while one Fragrantica reviewer found the opening too bergamot-heavy and felt it did not match the listed notes. Sprayed rather than rolled on, it carries further than the oil. It suits wearers who want a bright, commanding oud for evenings and formal wear more than a soft everyday scent.
