Green Irish Tweed is one of the most imitated men's fragrances of the last forty years, and Pearl Fragrances' extrait goes straight for its best-known feature: the crisp, grassy lemon verbena opening that gives the original its cool, fresh-cut-grass character. Iris and bergamot back up that citrus top, and the transition into violet leaf and geranium follows the same green, slightly powdery path as Creed's version. Where the two diverge is in the base. The real Green Irish Tweed is prized for an ambergris-and-Mysore-sandalwood drydown that feels understated but expensive, a quality that is genuinely difficult to reproduce at a budget price point. This version keeps the shape of that base with ambergris, sandalwood and musk, but it reads flatter and fades faster, without the rounded depth that makes the original a modern classic.
