L'Immensite

L'Immensite takes on another Louis Vuitton Cavallier Belletrud release, this one built around a tart grapefruit-ginger opening that reviewers call electric and immediate. Pearl Fragrances captures that opening reasonably well - the citrus punch arrives fast, backed by a warmer ginger spice that mimics the original's pickled-ginger effect. The herbaceous sage-and-rosemary heart that gives Louis Vuitton's version its dry, sophisticated edge is present but more muted here, and the aquatic undertone some reviewers detect is largely absent. Where the two really part ways is longevity: the original is known for seven to eight hours of wear with amber and labdanum carrying it into a warm, ambery finish, while this version's amber base is thinner and quieter, receding to skin within two or three hours. It reads as a competent citrus-fresh scent for a warm day rather than the all-day fragrance the real L'Immensite is built to be.
