Addict follows Christian Dior's 2014 Eau de Parfum, a warm orange-blossom-and-vanilla composition that reviewers praise for genuinely exceptional longevity, with some claiming to still smell it on clothing two days later. Pearl Fragrances keeps the bright orange-blossom-mandarin opening and pushes the vanilla base forward earlier and more insistently than Dior's own gradual build. The Sambac jasmine heart that Dior layers over Bourbon vanilla for a Mediterranean, sun-warmed effect is thinner here, and the result reads sweeter and simpler rather than rich and enveloping. Dior's version is also noted for a subtle spiced nuance in the drydown that doesn't survive the translation here. What's left is a pleasant, straightforward vanilla-floral that captures the gist of Addict's warmth without the multi-day staying power that makes the original a signature-scent favourite for so many wearers.
