Bacchus Rise

Perfume Parlour Bacchus Rise is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2019. Bacchus Rise opens with Rum, Peach, Apple, and Saffron, settles into a heart of Tonka Bean, Patchouli, Vetiver, and Jasmine, and dries down to a base of Tobacco, Vanilla, Amber, and Sandalwood. Perfume Parlour's Bacchus Rise carries a Statement verdict, a sweet-led wear.

Bacchus Rise copies Argos's Triumph of Bacchus - that golden boozy-rum-and-tobacco gourmand with ripe fruit and sweet vanilla. The dupe captures the indulgent rum-tobacco signature but reads flatter and sweeter, with shorter longevity than the well-built niche original.

About

Bacchus Rise is Perfume Parlour's take on Argos's cult Triumph of Bacchus, a golden, velvety rum-tobacco gourmand. It opens boozy and lush with rum, soft white peach, crisp green apple and a touch of saffron, then a smooth heart of tonka, patchouli, vetiver and jasmine adds warmth and balance. As it settles, the base turns deep and indulgent - tobacco, vanilla, amber, sandalwood and musk for a warm, sensual, long-lasting finish in the original. As a budget interpretation it captures the rich boozy-tobacco character that makes Triumph of Bacchus so loved, but renders it flatter and a touch sweeter, losing some of the depth and roundness of the well-built niche fragrance, and the longevity falls short of the original's excellent staying power. A warm, indulgent cold-weather scent for evenings and date nights.
