Deliberate opens on aldehydes, mimosa and powdery rose threaded with tuberose, plum and green notes, the grand, slightly old-school floral flourish that defines Estee Lauder Knowing. A spiced floral heart of jasmine, iris, orange blossom and cardamom leans into earthy patchouli, before a classic chypre base of oakmoss, amber, sandalwood, vetiver and a whisper of civet gives it depth and sensuality. The overall character is sophisticated, powdery and unmistakably grown-up. As a Perfume Parlour budget interpretation it renders the composition flatter and more 2D than the vintage original: the rich, animalic moss-and-civet drydown is tamer, the rose less three-dimensional, and longevity sits skin-close at a few hours rather than the 8-13 Knowing is renowned for. Still, the powdery-rose-and-oakmoss chypre signature and the confident, sensual mood come through, making it an affordable route to the Knowing idea.
