Fursan White is an Arabian creamy gourmand from Khadlaj, and at Perfume Parlour prices it is a lot of comforting vanilla for the money. It opens brighter than you might expect - a sparkle of bergamot and a soft jasmine giving a floral lift - before the heart reveals what it is really about: a smooth, milky coconut wrapped in velvety musk and a subtle almond, creamy and enveloping. The base is a soft, airy vanilla, grounded by a touch of dry cedarwood and a whisper of nutmeg that keeps it from going flat. Reviewers describe the effect beautifully as a dusty vanilla coat - light and translucent rather than thick or syrupy, the vanilla restrained and the coconut more flaked than tropical. It is frequently compared side by side with Vanilla Powder, sitting just a touch airier. The one caution wearers raise is strength: this projects hard in the first half hour and can tip into cloying if over-sprayed, so a light hand is rewarded.
