Gold XI opens on a sweet, juicy red apple laced with rose petals, the same inviting fruity-floral start that made Kayali's Elixir 11 a favourite before it was discontinued. The dupe keeps that appley-rose sparkle, leaning a touch sweeter. The heart deepens into a fuller rose as may rose and jasmine sambac bloom, romantic and lush. The drydown is where it shines and where it diverges most: patchouli steps forward alongside velvety amber and creamy vanilla, exactly as in the original, though Perfume Parlour sweetens the vanilla a little further so the close reads more gourmand and slightly less polished.
